The ECM Synchronika II is the machine serious home baristas point to when asked what the benchmark looks like at this level. A dual boiler machine with independent stainless steel brew and steam boilers — each with its own PID controller — a silent rotary pump, and ECM’s proprietary E61-based brew group, the Synchronika II delivers café-quality consistency built with the obsessive attention to detail that defines ECM’s German engineering. The headline upgrade over the original Synchronika is the addition of cartridge heaters inside the E61 brew group, enabling a 6.5-minute heat-up that is first in class among E61 dual boiler machines.
The redesigned OLED display with tactile rotary dial brings every setting into one intuitive interface — dual boiler temperature control, active and passive pre-infusion, programmable auto on/off scheduling, ECO mode, shot counter and a brew-group cleaning reminder, all navigated with a single knob. The 2.8L water tank switches to a direct mains plumb-in, and the optional ECM flow control device adds full manual pressure profiling. Built from high-gloss polished stainless steel with two ergonomic weight-balanced portafilters and no-burn joystick steam and hot-water valves, the Synchronika II is as exceptional to look at as it is to use.
